Safe House Expansion

We want to announce a BIG vision for our home in 2021.  In order to provide a higher level of care, we have plans to expand our Safe House. We’ve already received architectural plans from a very gracious Poiema partner, Paul Chapel, who attends the Crosby Life Group at Lake Pointe Church. This Life Group is full of faithful volunteers, prayer partners, and donors!

The safe house expansion will include four bedrooms and bathrooms. It will provide room for us to have an office on site for case management, more private living quarters for our Residential Assistant, and a small bedroom for respite care when our RA is getting a much needed break.

Additionally, we will gain another living area so the current living room can be used as an educational/study room. This plan also enlarges our dining area so we can seat more residents and volunteers at our Monday community meal.

We are grateful for the way the Lord is providing for this project. Our vision is for community businesses and churches to partner with us and help build/fund the addition. The biggest hurdle we saw with this vision was finding a general contractor willing to work with churches and volunteers. This seemed to be a daunting task…but as usual, God came through in His own unique way. We have a wonderful man who heard our vision and stepped up to volunteer his services as the General Contractor. For us, this was God’s green light to continue with this vision of expansion.

Please prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this exciting project that will help Poiema provide a higher level of care for our residents. Additionally, please pray for God’s provision! You can hear more about tis project at our Trauma to Triumph event!
