"Alana" spent the better part of a year getting to know a slightly older man on social media. He was funny and thoughtful, and he seemed to truly understand her in a way her family never had. When it came time for her 18th birthday, he convinced her to meet him at a fancy restaurant downtown.
To celebrate, he ordered her a "special drink", and, when it proved stronger than she had expected, he kindly offered to drive her home.
It wasn't until several weeks, and several 'paying customers' later, that she finally escaped and found help.
